fertile ground

Anastasia Kolas

Across geographies a family is engaged in studying matters of their shared past. A man travels to a dead-end address on the outskirts of Minsk; a woman drifts through the streets of Berlin. She seems to have things to do, places to go, and people to meet, but behind the scenes, the tentative arrangements of her life are unraveling. Struggling to have a response, she takes her cue from an unexpected source from the archives.
